SKY express will once again transport the Holy Light across Greece this Easter, continuing a tradition it has supported consistently since 2017.
Through scheduled flights, the airline will carry the Holy Light from Athens to seven destinations across the country: Alexandroupoli, Heraklion, Corfu, Chania, Mytilene, Rhodes, and Santorini.
Recently named “Airline of the Year 2025” by the European Regions Airline Association (ERA), SKY express will once again play a key operational role on Holy Saturday, helping ensure the timely delivery of the Holy Light to the country’s regions.
The Holy Light is expected to arrive at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” on the afternoon of Holy Saturday via a government flight from Jerusalem. It will then be transferred to the following destinations through SKY express services:
- GQ294: Athens – Alexandroupoli | 20:30 – 21:45

In a period marked by heightened tensions in the Middle East, the message of Easter and the symbolism of the Holy Light carry even greater significance, underscoring the values of peace, hope, and solidarity.
With the support of its highly trained personnel and modern fleet, SKY express continues to contribute to this important national and religious tradition, ensuring the smooth and reliable transportation of the Holy Light on the night of the Resurrection.
In addition, on Good Friday and Holy Saturday, the airline’s cabin crews will welcome passengers on all domestic and international flights arriving in Greece by offering Easter candles, adding a festive and symbolic touch to the travel experience during the holiday period.
