SKY express is set to strengthen its domestic network from Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) with the launch of a new Thessaloniki–Chania (CHQ) service as part of its Winter 2026/27 schedule.
The new route will commence on 26 October 2026 and will operate three times weekly using the airline’s Airbus A320neo fleet. According to the published schedule, flights will depart every Monday and Wednesday at 18:35, while Thursday services will depart at 14:00.
The addition of the SKG–CHQ route further enhances connectivity between Northern Greece and Crete, providing passengers with a direct travel option during the winter season. The service is expected to benefit both business and leisure travellers, while also improving access between Greece’s second-largest city and one of the country’s most important tourism destinations.
The deployment of the Airbus A320neo on the route underlines SKY express’ strategy of operating its newest-generation aircraft on key domestic markets, offering increased capacity and improved operational efficiency.
Alongside the new Thessaloniki–Chania service, SKY express is also expanding its international network from Athens International Airport.
From 22 October 2026, the airline will launch a new Athens–Barcelona route, operating five times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with Airbus A320neo aircraft. The new service complements the carrier’s existing flights to Madrid, further strengthening its presence in the Spanish market.
In addition, beginning 2 December 2026, SKY express will introduce a daily Athens–Cairo service, also operated by the Airbus A320neo.
The announcement reflects the airline’s continued network expansion strategy for the Winter 2026/27 season, with a particular emphasis on strengthening domestic connectivity through the addition of the new Thessaloniki–Chania route while simultaneously expanding its international footprint from Athens.
